If you understand the history of the public education system and the model it was built on, you will understand regardless of what side of the political aisle you sit on, it’s a form of indoctrination. The question is what level of indoctrination do we tolerate in public schools?
This has been a problem since the founding of the first Board of Education in Massachusetts in 1837 by Horace Mann who became an instrumental part in creating the American Public Education system we have today where he used the Prussian Model of Obedience as a blueprint. Many Protestants and even Classical Liberals opposed Mann’s efforts by disagreeing upon the role of the government in education as it was antithetical to conservatism, and restricts the freedom of parents to pass their own thoughts, values and beliefs onto their children.
The Prussian Model of Obedience was created after the Prussians were defeated by Napoleon in 1806, it was decided that the reason why the battle was lost was because Prussian Soldiers were thinking for themselves, instead of following orders. The Prussian Model of Obedience was to create obedient soldiers for the army, obedient workers for mines, factories, and farms, well-subordinated and trained civil servants and clerks for industry, citizens who thought alike on most issues, and national uniformity in thought, word, and deed. Today we see the use of centralized power and authority in schools being supported by taxes, state-trained teachers, compulsory attendance, parents punished for a child’s absence, and uniformity in instruction and curriculum.
When it comes to Texas we have 3 Progressive Billionaires invested in the public education system: Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and John Arnolds.
Bill Gates has been investing in Texas Public Education since the year 2000 totaling over $407 million, another $195 million+ towards Texas Universities, and $80 million to The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). In 2017 the IPPF created a toolkit for schools, built off UNESCO’s Comprehensive Sexuality Education to transform “Sex Ed” which previously focused on the reproductive system and sexually transmitted diseases, now focuses on “Sexuality & Gender Identity” in order to create social change. Under this transformation, kids under the age of 10 are also learning prostitution is a normal interpersonal relationship. IPPF & UNESCO both oppose any type of abstinence programme for young people. Rather they focus on teaching kids about abortion mentioning abortion 40 times in their toolkit. IPPF Removed its toolkit from its website after April 17, 2023 when corporate media picked up the story (you can still view it on WaybackMachine).
Gates has donated $19 million to Guttmacher Institute which originally started as a pro-abortion think tank in 1968, now pushes trangenderism, gender identity, and normalizing sex among teens. Guttmacher Institue’s senior consultant and Columbia University Professor John Santelli sits as Chair of the board of directors for SIECUS (Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States) an NGO that advocates for “advancing sex ed for social change” through Comprehensive Sexuality Education. SIECUS most recently created SIECUS in Action to create a “laser-focused movement on advancing progressive sex education policies” and they go as far to call parents extremists for attacking their idea of sex education.
The SIECUS Vice Chair Sarah Tomchesson works for LoveHoney Group, the Amazon for sex toys where their b-vibe product line sponsored a SIECUS series to advance Comprehensive Sexuality Education through “Healthy Sexual Exploration,” which covered vibrators, masturbation, butt plugs, and anal sex. The series was intended for parents, students, educators, and school administrators. Comprehensive Sexuality Education is leading to the hyper-sexualization of children disguised as “sex ed that can improve school safety and reduce child abuse, gender-based violence, and LGBTQ+ bullying.”
In my previous Substack “The Charter School Trap” we shared that Gates & Zuckerberg were invested in Zearn & Panorama Education Software, KIPP Charter Schools, and how they are bypassing the national ban on data collection on students by using Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) assessment tools like screeners/surveys to data mine students’ information. SEL is a teaching methodology launched by Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL).
In 2011 CASEL launched its Collaborating Districts Initiative to partner with school districts across the country and support their efforts to implement SEL. Austin ISD was one of those districts to volunteer in 2011. By 2017 El Paso and Dallas partnered with CASEL. As of today Taylor ISD, Houston ISD, and Round Rock ISD joined CASEL
CASEL was instrumental in initiating the Social and Emotional Learning movement that has quickly spread across the globe. The transition to SEL places more of an emphasis on emotional rather than academic development. This new style of education is heavily entrenched in the public schools and is the main method of promoting equity-based education. As with many of the policies affecting this generation of children, CASEL embraces activism on their website by “promoting justice-oriented school and civic engagement.” The SEL movement also acquaints children with the idea that collective rights usurp their individual rights. CASEL says little about helping an individual child reach their individual potential. The framework of self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, social awareness, and self-awareness creates a particular political mold and lens through which children are taught to view the world. Individual creative/out-of-box thinking has been integral to the success of the United States. What effect the SEL movement will have on this type of innovative thinking and how it will hamper the ability of children to grow and develop their individual strengths remains to be seen.

Zearn was created by Dave Levin the founder of KIPP Charter Schools and Teach for America Alum. Panorama Education’s founder is Xan Tanner, son-in-law to Attorney General Merrick Garland. Tanner was exposed by upset parents, pushing CRT as SEL as Social Justice: Dismantling White Supremacy Within Systems and Self. Panorama Education is partnered with Teach for America an organization founded by Wendy Kopp a Schwab Fellow of the World Economic Forum (WEF) where she has adopted the WEF’s Education 4.0 Alliance by joining the WEF’s Global Lighthouse Network. Gates has poured over $47 million into KIPP Charter Schools, $15 million into Teach for America, and $5 million to Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Gates also donated $6 million towards the Idea Public School which was founded by Tom Torkelson another Teach for America Alum, $3.8 million to Yes Prep Public Schools founded by Chris Barbic, a Teach for America Alum, and $3.3 million to Teach Plus
While Zuckerberg has only donated $1.5 million to Teach for America and $3 million to CASEL. Zuckerberg did donate $1.95 billion+ to the “Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF).” Where between 2019-2021, SVCF donated over $10 million+ to KIPP Charter Schools, $9 million to Teach for America, $3 million to Zearn, $2 million to CASEL, and $956,000 to Teach Plus Incorporated, an organization that has partnered with Teach for America.
Teach Plus is a teacher leadership group to transform the nation’s schools and our education system. Focusing on SEL & DEI. They’ve also launched an advocacy group called, “The National Policy & Advocacy Network” where they advocate for progressive policies for school reform. Teach Plus CEO Kira Orange Jones was VP and Founder of Systems Impact Lab at Teach for America spending almost two decades with them.
Between 2019-2021 Charter Fund INC received $26,625,000 from SVCF and $15,660,000 from Gates. Charter Fund INC disperses funds to Charter schools all across the country. The current CEO is Kevin Hall, previous Executive Director of Teach for America. The following Texas schools received funding and were also founded by Teach For America Alumni.
